Deep-In-Sight Co.,Ltd, an AI-based 3D sensing solution startup, announced on the 12th that it has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Mobase Electronics Co., Ltd., a specialist in electronic components for automobiles, for the development of driver and passenger monitoring systems (ICC/ICC-R).
 

Through this collaboration, the two companies plan to develop algorithms and SDKs for the integrated ICC/ICC-R system, as well as hardware and software development and evaluation, and sales support. The ICC solution refers to an In-Cabin Camera for monitoring the interior of the vehicle, while the ICC-R solution refers to an In-Cabin Camera Rear-view for monitoring up to two rows of passengers with an Occupant Monitoring System (OMS). The ICC algorithm includes functions such as Face ID, driver drowsiness detection, and detection of hand movements on the steering wheel, while the ICC-R algorithm includes features for detecting the number of occupants in the vehicle, identifying passenger locations, and recognizing left-behind children or luggage.
 

Through this MOU, Deep-In-Sight Co.,Ltd plans to enhance the algorithm development of its own AI-based In-Cabin Monitoring solution (ICMS), improve accuracy, and develop demo samples, as well as collaborate with its partner, Mobase Electronics, on the ICC and ICC-R integrated system development project. Mobase Electronics plans to strengthen its vehicle solution competitiveness based on Deep-In-Sight Co.,Ltd's algorithm development capabilities.
 

Deep-In-Sight's CEO Oh Eun-song said, "Various companies around the world are competing in the safety-related monitoring solution field that is expected in the future mobility industry," and "Compared to the general driver monitoring system (DMS), the ICC and ICC-R solutions are enhanced in functionality, stability, and compatibility. Mobase Electronics Executive Director Lee Joo-hyun, who participated in the MOU ceremony, said, "We expect that this business agreement with Deep Insight will create positive synergies by combining the core competencies of both companies."
